Caline Night for women by Gres was launched in 2006 as a special edition of Caline perfume. Compared to the original, it focuses more on a night and elegant style. The official notes are: cherry, jasmine, praline and musk form the original Caline, plus other notes of mandarin, apple, rose, patchouli, and sandalwood.

In the opening it feels intense with traces of ripe, almost floral cherries, and other sweet “edible” notes, like chocolate and vanilla, which make this fragrance almost gourmand. In the middle phase, the aroma is fresher, cherries are less prominent, with sweet peaches and roses, also sweet. The base is with a caramel note of praline, which gradually becomes more intense and for a couple of minutes cover the rest of the notes, reminding of the opening of Fendi perfume Palazzo. After a while, caramel is less intense but still dominant, and mixes with red florals and fruits, reminding of CH perfume by Carolina Herrera. In the final notes the sweet gourmand is still very intense, although the dominant note is a dense floral with traces of cherry.

This Caline Night by Gres  has a very gourmand opening (very similar to Angel perfume for women by Thierry Mugler, or to Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder), which gives a first impression of a nocturnal fragrance for any time of the year, both for formal and informal occasions. As it evolves though, the fragrance opens to more possibilities of use, and it becomes also suitable for an office use, especially during the winter, and for other social occasions between spring and autumn, in closed spaces. On the romantic side it is also attractive, perhaps not extremely sensual, but feminine enough to stand out during a romantic dinner. The ideal age range would be between 20 and 45 years, although it feels more natural between 30 and 45.
